This video performance examines our unconscious relationship with the smartphone's digital wallpaper—a visual we encounter hundreds of times daily yet rarely perceive. Using personal device analytics as choreographic structure, the work translates habitual screen-checking into physical gesture, with the background image raised and lowered across various spaces to mirror each documented phone pickup.
The performance makes visible what remains perpetually hidden: our compulsive digital rituals and the overlooked imagery that accompanies them. Each lift corresponds to a moment of unconscious reaching, transforming personal data into embodied movement and questioning what it means to live in constant, unacknowledged visual relationship with corporate-designed imagery.
